Troopers Seize 100 Pounds of Fentanyl During Eloy Traffic Stop

ELOY, Ariz. – On Saturday, September 26, 2026, an Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS) trooper assigned to the Canine District conducted a traffic stop on a Ford pickup truck for civil traffic violations on westbound Interstate 10 in Eloy. During the stop, the trooper observed indicators of criminal activity, prompting a search of the vehicle.
Troopers discovered and seized approximately 51 pounds of fentanyl powder and 49 pounds of fentanyl pills.
The driver was booked into the Pinal County Jail on charges including possession of a narcotic drug for sale and transportation of a narcotic drug for sale. A juvenile passenger in the vehicle was turned over to the Department of Child Services.
The Pinal Narcotics Squad and Highway Patrol District 6 assisted with the investigation.
