Support Services
The Support Services Section at DPS is comprised of three small units within the Department: the Supply Warehouse Unit, the Asset Tracking and Mail Services Unit and the Forms and Printing Services Unit. Support Services employees thrive to provide exemplary customer service to both their internal and external customer base.
The Supply Warehouse Unit is responsible for the procurement, warehousing, and issuing of approximately 730 different items consisting of first-aid supplies, office supplies, assigned trooper equipment, etc. Additionally, the warehouse ships and receives on behalf of the Department, tags capital and accountable equipment, and processes surplus materials for transfer to the State Surplus Property Management Office (SPMO).
The Asset Tracking and Mail Services Unit is responsible for maintaining the Department’s equipment inventory of over 30,000 items throughout the state. In conjunction with the Supply Warehouse Unit, the Asset Tracking coordinator prepares and submits paperwork to the SPMO for all surplus processes including weapon trades, general surplus, and lost or damaged items.
Mail Services is responsible for handling and distributing the Department’s internal and external mail. The Forms and Printing Services Unit is responsible for creating, editing and maintaining forms for Department use. In addition, those forms, along with business cards, manuals, booklets, pamphlets and programs are produced internally for use within the Department and throughout the State.
