Arizona Law Enforcement Academy (ALEA)
The Arizona Law Enforcement Academy (ALEA) is operated by the Arizona Department of Public Safety in conjunction with the Phoenix Police Department and the Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board (AZPOST). ALEA supports agencies from throughout the state and trains new police recruits in the AZPOST approved 585-hour basic police curriculum. The Arizona Department of Public Safety supports ALEA with the assignment of a Captain, class sergeants, recruit training troopers and specialty instructors as requested.
