New Fee Schedule for Department Records to be Implemented Immediately
Phoenix — In pursuit of efforts to be a more transparent agency and improve accountability, the Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS) recently submitted paperwork to amend the administrative rules governing the fees charged by the Department for copies of reports and other forms of record. The new fees are cost neutral and will represent a decrease in cost to the customers who purchase reports.
The rule changes codify the Department’s desire to provide these reports through electronic delivery methods such as CD’s, DVD’s, fax, and email.
AZDPS Director, Colonel Frank Milstead, announced on August 11, 2016, that he was directing his staff to review the fee structure for public records. In his statement at that time he said, “When questions were raised regarding the fees we charge for public records, I directed staff to research the issue.” These changes are a direct result of that directive.
A summary of the new fees is listed below for Arizona traffic accident reports, offense, arrest, incident and other types of departmental reports:

- $0.10 per additional page (reduced from $1.00 per page)
