President Trump - Event Operations at Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum

Preliminary Information: 

Phoenix — The Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS) is working in partnership with the United States Secret Service, the City of Phoenix Police Department and Phoenix Fire Department to ensure the safety of all attending President Donald Trump’s rally at the Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

 

The event will take place on Wednesday, February 19, 2020, at the Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix. Event parking will open to the public at 6:00 AM and the venue will open at 3:00 PM. Only those with tickets for the event will be admitted. The event will commence at 7:00 PM. Strict security measures and screening will be in place at the Coliseum and attendees should leave prohibited items at home or risk being denied entry. Prohibited items are listed below.

 

Temperatures are expected to be moderate, however, attendees should check weather before attending and dress accordingly. Plan for potentially long lines, heavy pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

 

AZDPS reminds the public to plan ahead for extended traffic delays on city streets and highways near 19th Avenue and I-10 throughout the late afternoon and evening.

 

AZDPS Director Colonel Frank Milstead said, “We stand with the public, governmental and law enforcement partners to help ensure the safety of everyone involved with the presidential visit.”

EVENT LOCATION:

Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum

EVENT TIMES

Parking lots will open at 6:00 AM

Attendees can enter the Coliseum starting at 3:00 PM

The event will begin at 7:00 PM  

 

PARKING

No oversized vehicles will be allowed to park on the State Fairgrounds

Parking will be available in the following areas:

  • Within the parking lots of the Arizona State Fair Grounds
  • Within the parking lot west of 19th Avenue, south of Encanto Boulevard

 

EVENT ENTRANCES

The only entrances for event attendees are:

  • 19th Avenue and Monte Vista 
  • Encanto Boulevard east of 19th Avenue

 

MEDIA INFORMATION

Media will enter the State Fairgrounds at the McDowell Road and 17th Drive entrance located at the south end of the property.

 

Media will be allowed to begin  set-up at 9:00 AM but will be required to leave the venue no later than 10:30 AM, media may re-enter the venue at 2:30 PM.

  • Selfie Sticks

  • Signs with handles
  • Signs exceeding the size restrictions (20′ x 3′ x 1/4″)

  • Toy guns
  • Recreational motorized mobility devices
  • Weapons of any kind
  • Any other items determined to be potential safety hazards

Handbags smaller than a plastic grocery bag are permitted.
