Mission StatementOur mission is to ensure statewide compliance with federal regulations and state statutes governing access, use, and dissemination of accurate and complete criminal justice information, to collect and report statewide crime statistical information, and to assist law enforcement and criminal justice agencies. * Maintains the statewide Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) program by collecting crime statistics from Arizona law enforcement agencies and publishing an annual Crime in Arizona reports. * Forwards Arizona UCR statistical information to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for incorporation into the national Crime in the United Sates annual publication. * Coordinates activities with the Federal Bureau of Investigations, Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) for the state. * Conducts federally and state mandated training for employees from Arizona law enforcement and criminal justice agencies on the use of the criminal justice information. * Coordinates the statewide terminal operator certification program for Arizona Criminal Justice Information Systems (ACJIS) network users. * Coordinates request for ACJIS terminal access to authorized law enforcement and criminal justice agencies. * Conducts federally and state mandated operational audits of ACJIS network users agencies to verify adherence to privacy and security regulations and to ensure data integrity of criminal justice information. * Coordinates and conducts criminal history record reviews by each county to ensure each reporting entity is submitting arrest card and disposition information to the Arizona central state repository. |
