The Maintenance Section is responsible for:
Provides corrective and preventative maintenance for all DPS-owned facilities throughout the state. Maintenance for leased facilities is performed in accordance with lease agreements.
Facilities maintenance staff is divided into three maintenance zones to serve the state:
Northern Zone, working out of Flagstaff
Central Zone, working out of Phoenix
Southern Zone, working out of Tucson
Responsible for tracking and providing services through the Maintenance Work Order system.
Response to emergency situations relevant to DPS facilities. Management, supervision and technical personnel are on call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week to facilitate timely and effective responses.
Performs inspections of remote housing in accordance with Department policies. Inspections will be completed: Prior to occupancy.
Upon request from an employee.
Upon request from the Department.
Upon an employee vacating a facility.
Performs annual inspections of all Department-owned buildings.
In addition: Provides custodial, grounds keeping and pest control services for DPS facilities statewide per established procedures.
Responsible for preparing Risk Management claims for damage to DPS facilities.
Assists in providing prioritized building, equipment, and property deficiency lists for developing funding requests.
Assists in the completion of building equipment/renewal projects to prolong the useful life of DPS facilities.
