How to Renew Your Concealed Weapons (CCW) Permit
A renewal packet which includes a renewal application and a return envelope is mailed to the permit holder utilizing the mailing address that is on file with CWPU. Packets are mailed approximately 90 days prior to the expiration date on the permit.
Permits may be renewed 90 days prior to or up to 60 days after expiration on your concealed weapons permit.

Complete the renewal application form, obtain a money order, cashier's or certified check for the appropriate fee; made payable to AZDPS, then mail both items to the Concealed Weapons Permit Unit utilizing the below address.

It is the Departments policy to deny a concealed weapons permit to an applicant based on disqualifiers in accordance with U.S. Federal 18 U.S.C. § 922 and Arizona State ARS §13-3112, ARS §13-3101(7). If no disqualifying criminal history record is found, the concealed weapons permit is issued.
The Concealed Weapons Permit Unit has a maximum of 75 days to complete the renewal process or to request additional information from the applicant.
Late Submissions: Renewal applications received in excess of 60 days or more after the permit's expiration will be returned to the applicant with instructions on how to obtain a new permit.
