State Gang Task Force Detectives Thwart “Murder-For-Hire” Plot in Yavapai County
Murder of key witness prevented
Thursday, July 17, 2014 -
On July 9, Gang & Immigration Intelligence Team Enforcement Mission (GIITEM) Detectives, along with the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, arrested key players in a “Murder-for-Hire” case involving a key witness in Yavapai County.
An informant approached GIITEM officials and indicated a female was going to be murdered in order to prevent her from testifying in court against Pedro Sandoval Flores. Flores, 28, was in custody for an assault and conspired with Fidel Flores to murder the 26- year-old female for $3,000.
Fidel Flores offered an undercover detective $1,000 as a down payment for the murder. When the murder was completed, Flores was set to pay the detective another $2,000.
The victim’s life was saved by GITTEM Detectives who worked hard to ensure her safety and arrest the conspirators.
GIITEM will continue to operate in a manner that protects lives and this is another great example of how the State Gang Task Force saves lives.
