DPS Will Help Host Annual Swift Water Expo at Saguaro Lake Ranch
Swift Water Rescue Teams to sharpen their skills at the exciting event
Friday, May 30, 2014 -
The Highway Patrol’s Aviation Unit will help organize this year’s swift water expo at Saguaro Lake Ranch. The aim of this event is to help train swift water rescue teams from across the state in scenarios that typically take the lives of rescuers and victims every year.
The event will test each of the teams in a series of tasks designed to challenge their skills and also help them become more skillful in their craft. Approximately 40 first responders will participate in this great training event that will allow them to become better at protecting people who find themselves in trouble.
The event will be held at the Saguaro Lake Ranch near Bush Highway on Saturday, May 31 from 8:30 a.m. and go on into the afternoon. Members of the media are encouraged to attend and help share their message about water safety.
Members of the media who wish to attend, please contact DPS Officer / Paramedic Russ Dodge at 928 848-1566
