A new law is in effect that requires scrap metal recyclers to register their company with the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS).

As part of the registration process, scrap metal recyclers must provide detailed information to DPS regarding their company.

Some of the information scrap metal recyclers must now provide to DPS is the name and address of their business, the name of each person that owns the business, and full identification of each owner.

The new law took effect on Friday, September 13, 2013.
The online registration process is available through DPS’s current contracted database provider, LeadsOnline. After completing registration, scrap metal recyclers will be provided with a certificate verifying their registration.
