Officers from the Arizona Department of Public Safety will be taking part in a DUI task force focusing on the West Valley Friday night. As part of task force operations, officers will be conducting saturation patrols starting at 7 p.m. This task force is being coordinated and funded by the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.
Saturation patrols are not relegated solely to holiday periods. Officers from various agencies team up frequently to look for and stop impaired drivers on the streets and highways. DPS has a number of specially trained DUI recognition officers that will assist tonight’s task force that will include a number of Valley law enforcement agencies.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety is a state-level law enforcement agency whose mission is to protect human life and property by enforcing state laws, deterring criminal activity and providing vital support to the State of Arizona and its citizens.
