Heavy Rain and Snow Driving Media Event to be held at the Phoenix Fire Training Center

With the snow season quickly approaching, the Department of Public Safety (DPS) and the Phoenix Fire Department invite you to attend a unique media event where you can get a first-hand look at how crashes can occur in adverse weather. The media event will also provide strategies and tips for poor weather driving.
Officers with DPS and firefighters from the Phoenix Fire Department will be available at the event that will be held at the Phoenix Fire Regional Training Center located at 2425 W. Lower Buckeye in Phoenix. The event will take place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m on Wednesday, November 28.
The purpose will be to demonstrate the driving habits that may lead to crashes and provide tips on how to avoid adverse weather driving mishaps. Topics to be covered will include following distance, vehicle characteristics and handling as well as evasive driving tactics used by DPS and the Phoenix Fire Department.
We encourage all members of the media to attend this unique experience and see first-hand what can lead to crashes in poor weather conditions.
