In anticipation of record-breaking summer heat the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) wants to make sure that drivers are taking appropriate measures to ensure their vehicles are safe. DPS is advising that drivers check their tires to make sure they have sufficient tread and proper inflation. Moreover, if travelers are taking long road trips DPS would like to remind them to carry extra water during those trips.

In addition, media interviews will be available by contacting the DPS PIO Unit. The PIO can talk about tips to avoiding blow outs and how to control the vehicle in case of a blow out.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety is a state-level law enforcement agency whose mission is to protect human life and property by enforcing state laws, deterring criminal activity and providing vital support to the State of Arizona and its citizens.
