Felony Warrant Issued For Gang Member Who Threatened The Life Of An Arizona Department Of Public Safety (DPS) Officer.

DPS Seeks Information About The Suspect's Whereabouts From the Public

Friday, May 11, 2012 -

On May 4, 2012, an Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Casa Grande. During the stop, the passenger became uncooperative with the officer. It was determined that the passenger, identified as Hector Lopez, had three outstanding misdemeanor warrants out of Pinal and Maricopa counties. Lopez was arrested and transported for booking.

During the booking process, Lopez stated to officers that he was terminally ill and had “nothing to lose”. Lopez made several threatening statements to officers, indicating he would not go down without a fight and would teach officers a lesson.

Lopez was bonded out before a felony warrant was issued.

Lopez is a documented member of a criminal street gang and is considered to be armed and dangerous, DPS and GIITEM detectives are asking for any information or tips that will lead to the successful capture of Lopez. Please do NOT attempt to approach Lopez, call the numbers given.
