Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) Seizes 16 pounds of Methamphetamine and 5.5 pounds of Heroin

On June 21, 2011, DPS Officers stopped a vehicle on Interstate 10 at milepost 217 (near Eloy) for a moving violation. During the stop, written consent was obtained to search the vehicle. A department K-9 was brought in to assist in the search. 18 packages of narcotics were discovered with an estimated weight of 16 pounds of methamphetamine and 5.5 pounds of Heroin. The methamphetamine seized has a street value of $266,000. The street value of the Heroin seized is $82,500.

One suspect was arrested and booked into the Pinal County Jail. Abraham Campos-Serna 28, of Sonora, Mexico.
