DPS Director Robert Halliday, along with Doug Coleman, DEA Acting Special Agent in Charge, will endorse “Operation Take Back Arizona” that is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 30, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, and over 42 state, local and tribal law enforcement agencies will take part in “Operation Take Back Arizona.” The operation will give the public another opportunity to help prevent prescription drug abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous, expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs.
The news conference will also feature Mindy Smith of the Arizona Pharmacy Alliance along with Cindy Sierzchula, a mom with a personal connection to the growing problem of prescription drug abuse.
As part of the operation, there will be numerous collection sites around the state where members of the public can safely and anonymously dispose of their unneeded prescription drugs. Several DPS substations and district offices will serve as collection sites
