DPS to conduct its fifth multi-agency DUI Warrant Round-up

Several valley police agencies to join in DUI warrant round-up

On Saint Patrick’s Day, Thursday, March, 17, 2011, the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) will host its fifth multi-agency DUI Warrant Round-up, with participation and assistance from the Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Surprise Police Departments, along with the Maricopa County Adult Probation Department.

The round-up command post will be set up at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum from 5:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Teams of officers will be deploying across the metro Phoenix area to serve arrest warrants on those who have absconded on their DUI charges and judicial process.

Those wishing to turn themselves in can do so at the command post or the appropriate court.

The DPS DUI Warrant Squad, formed nearly one-year ago, has made over 900 arrests.

Officer Bob Bailey and Capt. Danny Golden will be on scene at 5:00 AM at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum (State Fairgrounds) Thursday morning March 17th to coordinate interviews, ride-alongs etc. Those media planning to cover the DUI warrant round up should email
