Over 500 pounds of marijuana seized from commercial vehicle near Cordes Junction
Drugs were wrapped in wallpaper among a load of watermelons

On Tuesday, April 27, 2010, just before 9:30 a.m., a DPS Highway Patrol Officer stopped a white 2005 International commercial tractor pulling a 53’ box trailer. The truck was traveling north on Interstate 17 at milepost 266, just north of Cordes Junctions. The officer pulled the vehicle over for several equipment violations. After a consent search of the truck and trailer, several packages of marijuana were found inside trailer wrapped in tact wall paper among pallets of watermelons. The total weight of the marijuana was 506 pounds. The estimated bulk street value of the marijuana is approximately $278,300. The driver, Norvin Ennis, 25, of
