Effective March 1, 2010, Sgt. Kevin Wood became the new Chief Spokesman for the Arizona Department of Public Safety. Wood served in a similar capacity at DPS back in 1999-2000. Wood is a 30 year veteran of DPS most recently assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division. He spent the last four and a half years in the Special Investigations Unit as a Supervisor after serving 8 years in SIU as a Detective. Prior to SIU, Wood served as an Officer/Paramedic in the Air Rescue Unit in both Kingman and Phoenix for 9 years. “Being the department’s chief spokesman presents an exciting challenge. I look forward to meeting with members of the news media throughout the state, in the next several weeks,” said Wood.
