On February 10, 2010, the Phoenix Police Department received a tip regarding a possible drop house for illegal immigrants at 7905 W. Campbell. IIMPACT detectives placed the house under surveillance and observed two people leave the home in an SUV. Phoenix PD stopped the vehicle and took the occupants into custody.

As IIMPACT detectives entered the property, two suspects fled out the back of the home but were apprehended. As officers checked the back, a strong odor of marijuana was coming from the house. Inside, officers found 18 large bundles of marijuana in a back closet. Several other bales were being cut up for packaging and sale.

A search warrant was served. Approximately 400 pounds of marijuana, a fully loaded SKS assault rifle and two semi-automatic handguns were recovered.

A total of six suspects were arrested and booked into the 4th Avenue Jail on charges of possession of marijuana for sale and misconduct involving weapons.

In addition to IIMPACT, the DPS HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Traffic Area) Narcotics Unit along with Phoenix PD played a crucial role in this investigation.
