ADOT Press Release on current roadway conditions in Northern Arizona
Please check http://www.az511.gov or call 511 for the latest updates
Saturday, January 23, 2010 -
All roads are open and passable with the exception of State Route 89A from Flagstaff to Sedona and US 180 north of Flagstaff. We will be starting work on opening US 180 by the first of the week. US 89A will remain closed until further notice. We are having numerous rock fall issues on SR 89A. For safety reasons we will need to keep it closed.
Interstates 40 and 17 in the Flagstaff area still have snow packed and icy spots, so please use caution while traveling through that area. Also, anywhere in the higher elevations of the state where roads may be wet during the day, there is a good chance they will ice up when temperatures drop this afternoon and evening. Motorists need to be very cautious with these conditions this evening and throughout the night.
All roads in and around the Holbrook area, including both the Hopi and Navajo reservations, are either wet or clear with the exception of SR 264 mp 435 - 465 ( Window Rock area) where they are still snow packed. We are also still pushing snow and clearing shoulders on SR 87 south of Winslow down through Clint's Well on State Route 87.
