Arizona Department of Public Safety Air Rescue crew helps in capture of burglary suspects near Kingman

Burglary was “in progress”

On January 13, 2010, at approximately 8:00 a.m. DPS Air Rescue was requested by the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office to assist with a burglary in progress. MCSO advised they had established a perimeter around a rural residence in Golden Valley, near Kingman, and the suspects were believed to be armed and still inside the house.

The Kingman Air Rescue crew located a jacket in a nearby wash that was believed to belong to one of the suspects. Ground crews were directed to the location and several sets of foot tracks were discovered and followed.

The DPS Air Rescue crew located the three suspects hiding in a vegetated area about three miles from the residence. The three suspects once again fled through the desert, this time in three separate directions. The DPS Ranger helicopter was able to maintain visual contact with all three suspects enabling Mohave County deputies on the ground to make the arrests.

The suspects were all booked into the Mohave County Jail in Kingman.
