Arizona Department of Public Safety Officer makes random traffic stop and discovers a half pound of meth worth $9,500 found hidden in a potato chip bag

On Oct. 1, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. an Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) Highway Patrol Canine Officer stopped a 2003 Chevrolet pickup truck traveling west on Interstate 10 near Marana for a moving violation and equipment violation. The officer used his narcotics canine to perform an exterior sniff of the vehicle. The canine alerted to the vehicle and a subsequent search revealed a half pound of Methamphetamine hidden in a potato chip bag on the rear seat.
