Hiring Status

The Department of Public Safety is not currently testing for or hiring full-time/paid Cadet or Lateral Officers. Interested applicants for these positions are encouraged to submit an application and when testing resumes, all applications received will be processed and applicants contacted.

Current Testing Dates

The Department of Public Safety is actively recruiting for and seeking applicants for volunteer and Sworn Reserve Cadets and Sworn Reserve Lateral Officers.

The Sworn Selection and Recruiting Unit will be conducting testing for Sworn Reserve Cadets and Sworn Reserve Laterals (non-compensated positions) on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 9th and 10th, 2010, in the Phoenix area. The physical fitness and written exams will be held on Tuesday with the Qualification Appraisal Boards (QAB’s) held on Wednesday.

Applications must be received by Human Resources no later that 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 5th, 2010. Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be sent test invitations by mail containing specific instructions.
