Jeffery Stanhope, Assistant Director
Lt. Colonel Stanhope began his law enforcement career 26 years ago when he entered the academy to become a DPS officer. Lt. Colonel Stanhope has served in a variety of assignments including District Commander for the Vehicle Theft Interdiction District, District Commander for Central Narcotics District and Unit Commander for Professional Standards Unit, Highway Patrol District Commander and in the Intelligence and K-9 Districts. He has accomplishments ranging from security plan administrator for the President George W. Bush rally in 2004 at the Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum, Civil Emergency Task Force Security Plan for the Governor’s 2006 State of the State Address, security plan development for Operation Good Neighbor (Hurricane Katrina Evacuees), and development of procedures for the Freeway Response Training Program for Emergency Responders.
Lt. Colonel Stanhope graduated in 1983 from Ohio State University with a BA, Natural Resource Management and in 2004 he graduated from Northwestern University’s Police Staff and Command program.
